Veterinary Resources
Across America, up to 28% of pet owners struggle to afford veterinary care for their pets. It can happen to anyone due to unexpected circumstances, and there are options in our communities to help you obtain necessary care for your pet.
Talk to your veterinarian
If you have been obtaining preventative care regularly through your veterinarian and are in good standing, they may be able to negotiate a payment plan or at least be able to provide a care plan for your pet within your budget. Please understand not all veterinarians are willing or capable of doing this, as unpaid bills can jeopardize their livelihoods and ability to operate their clinics.
Apply for financial assistance
CareCredit is a flexible healthcare credit card that can give you quick access to funding. Most veterinary clinics accept CareCredit, however you should call your veterinarian to be certain. Unlike traditional credit cards, CareCredit uses different approval criteria so it is worth applying even if you've been denied for traditional credit lines.
Scratch Pay is a financing company that can provide loans for pet care. Not all clinics accept Scratchpay, so it is worthwhile to confirm that your clinic will accept Scratchpay payments.
